Mustang Trekking Region

Mustang is actually a part of the Tibetan plateau, and is high, dry and beautiful. Mustang is a remote, semi-independent Tibetan kingdom within the territory of Nepal, and one of the last bastions of undistributed Tibetan culture in the world.Tiji festival is a three day annual ritual, centered on the Tiji myth which is also known as the chasing of the demons.

Upper Mustang trek consists of two distinct regions, where the language, culture and traditions are almost purely Tibetan. Mustang was once an important route for crossing the Himalaya between Tibet and Nepal. Trekking in Mustang region is a unique experience. Upper Mustang, with topography and culture resembling Tibet has many unique features and attractions.
